Independence Pass Will Open for Season on Schedule -Thursday, May 23, at 2 p.m.

May 20, 2013 - - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - LAKE/PITKIN COUNTIES – The Colorado Department of Transportation is pleased to announce that the spring opening of SH 82 over Independence Pass will happen on schedule: Thursday, May 23, at 2 p.m. This scenic mountain corridor serves tourists, facilitates recreation and provides community connections across our state’s divide.

May 23, 2013 - BIKE ADVISORY - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - EAGLE/SUMMIT COUNTIES — The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is opening the western portion of the Vail Pass Bike Path – between east Vail and the top of Vail Pass – at 2 p.m. today.

May 24, 2013 - Northeastern Colorado/CDOT Region 4 - GREELEY, COLORADO – Mark Stoker of Burlington, CO, Transportation Maintenance Worker II for Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) Patrol 19 at Burlington, claimed two top-five finishes during a snow and ice equipment training and educational roadeo for Maintenance Section 1 (northeastern/eastern Colorado) CDOT employees held May 21 at Island Grove Regional Park in Greeley.

Mount Evans Highway Opens Today

May 24, 2013 - Central Eastern Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - CLEAR CREEK COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will open the Mount Evans Highway – State Highway 5 – for the season on Friday, May 24, at 5 p.m. It will remain open every day, weather permitting, from Echo Lake to the top of Mount Evans (14,264 feet), through Labor Day weekend.

Highway Surface Improvements Begin near US 160 and SH 145 Junction in Cortez

May 28, 2013 - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - MONTEZUMA COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation and contractor Intermountain Slurry Seal will begin a project on Wednesday, May 29, to improve the surface of US 160 and SH 145 in Cortez. The innovative maintenance project, called micro-surfacing, was contracted for $436,000.

Rabbit Ears Pass Patrol Members Lead Craig Section 6 Maintenance Roadeo Results

May 29, 2013 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - CRAIG, COLORADO – Members of Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) maintenance patrol 13 at Rabbit Ears Pass along U.S. 40 claimed five of 15 top-five place finishes in an annual training and education snow & ice equipment roadeo for CDOT maintenance professionals from Craig Maintenance Section 6, comprised of six northwestern Colorado counties, held May 22 at the Grand County Fairgrounds in Kremmling.

I-70 Twin Tunnels Weekly Traffic Advisory

May 30, 2013 - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Central Eastern Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - IDAHO SPRINGS – Traffic is moving smoothly on the two-lane, eastbound Interstate 70 frontage road around the Twin Tunnels. Please remember to anticipate slower traffic and a 35 mph speed limit while the detour remains in place through late 2013.
