Overnight work will close Purcell Boulevard at US 50 in Pueblo West on Sunday

August 5, 2022 - Southeastern Colorado - Travelers will be directed onto ramps at Purcell Boulevard

Pueblo County — On Sunday, August 7 motorists will encounter an overnight closure of Purcell Boulevard at the intersection of US 50, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The closure is needed for crews to complete the pouring of concrete on the new bridge structure.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes to access areas along Purcell Boulevard - both north and south of US 50. Slight delays are expected for motorists using this intersection. Please plan for additional travel time.

Normal working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. The construction schedule is subject to change based on weather or unforeseen circumstances.

  • Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
  • Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
  • Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
  • Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
  • Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
  • Be patient!
