CDOT to pave CO 114 west of Saguache

September 12, 2023 - Southwestern Colorado - Operations to take place over the next two-weeks

Saguache County —The Colorado Department of Transportation is paving short sections of CO 114 outside of Saguache over the next two weeks. Crews will perform surface treatment on a 2-mile section between County Road CC 36 and Ford Creek beginning Sept. 18 through Sept. 20. The following week (Sept. 25 through Sept. 27), operations will move farther east between the Saguache Municipal Airport and the junction of County Road 46.

Traffic Impacts

Daytime work hours range from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Wednesday.

  • Motorists should plan for 15-20 minute delays and allow for extra travel time
  • Vehicles will be guided by cones, signs and flagging personnel
  • Access in and out of intersections may be restricted at times
  • A speed reduction of 40 mph will be enforced through the work zones

  • Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
  • Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
  • Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
  • Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
  • Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
  • Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
  • Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
