Finishing work requires extended full 16-hour closure of I-25 on Sept. 15 through 16

Fort Collins – The North I-25 project team is in the final stages of roadway widening operations in northern Colorado. To install drainage pipe across southbound I-25, multiple overhead sign bridges, electrical and tolling elements, and perform concrete finishing work, a full closure of southbound I-25 from Mulberry Street to Harmony Road will take place from 7 p.m., Sept. 15 until 11 a.m., Sept. 16.

The project will increase capacity on I-25 by adding an Express Lane in both directions, constructing inside and outside shoulders, and replacing aging bridges. The project will also improve multimodal access to regional transit.

Travel Impacts

  • Full closure of southbound I-25 from Mulberry Street to Harmony Road will take place from 7 p.m., Sept. 15 until 11 a.m., Sept. 16
    • Southbound I-25 traffic will use Exit 269A/Mulberry Street (Colorado Highway 14 East), continue east on Mulberry Street to Colorado Highway 257. Turn right on CO 257, continue south to Harmony Road and turn right. Continue west to the southbound I-25 on-ramp
  • No access to southbound I-25 from Prospect Road during the full closure
    • Prospect Road to southbound I-25 traffic will go northbound on I-25 to Exit 269A/ Mulberry Street (CO 14 East), continue east on Mulberry Street to CO 257. Turn right on CO 257, continue south to Harmony Road and turn right. Continue to the southbound I-25 on-ramp

  • Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
  • Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
  • Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
  • Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
  • Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
  • Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
  • Be patient!
