Paving operations will continue farther south on CO 145 next week

September 7, 2023 - Southwestern Colorado - Expect delays September 11 through September 14 near Mountain Village

San Miguel County — The Colorado Department of Transportation will continue to pave CO 145 next Monday through Thursday. Motorists should plan for full stops and up-to 30 minute delays just north of Mountain Village (Mile Point 70).

Motorists are urged to consider worker safety by slowing down and avoiding distractions when traveling through work zones. Surface treatment work is weather-dependent and dates are subject to change.

Traffic Impacts

Daytime work hours range from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

  • Motorists should plan for up to 30-minute delays and allow for extra travel time
  • Vehicles will be guided by cones, signs and flagging personnel
  • Access in and out of intersections may be restricted at times
  • A speed reduction of 40 mph will be enforced through the work zones

  • Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
  • Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
  • Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
  • Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
  • Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
  • Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
  • Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
  • Be patient!
