EPB Welcomes Peter Ferraro!

New SWMP Program Manager

Please welcome Peter Ferraro to CDOT as the Stormwater Management Plan Design Manager within the Environmental Programs Branch! Peter was born in Durango, CO, and lived there until he graduated high school. He now calls the Front Range home. Peter graduated with honors from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a bachelor's in environmental science. During his senior year, he received a National Science Foundation scholarship to study soil characteristics in remnant short grass prairie ecosystems within the Front Range. After graduation, Peter interned in the Water Quality Section at CDOT. During his internship, he grew to love stormwater compliance as it pertains to our construction projects.

Peter is back at the CDOT Water Quality Section from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment where he briefly wrote permits for the Water Quality Control Division in the Industrial and Natural Resource Extraction Unit. In his new role in the Water Quality Section, Peter will be responsible for region support with project SWMP design, developing and issuing SWMP design certification classes, and assessing MS4 permit risk for the SWMP design program.

In his free time, Peter can be found hiking, skiing, and birdwatching throughout the state. He also loves to forage for mushrooms in the mountains. Peter is an environmental steward and a committed public servant. He looks forward to working with the regions and the other environmental teams here at headquarters.
