July 14, 2023 - Southwestern Colorado - CDOT performs work at US 160 and CO 184 junction

Montezuma County— Motorists should plan for delayed travel through the US Highway 160 and CO 184 intersection on Monday, July 17 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Brief delays and intermittent lane closures will occur throughout the one-day operation while crews install new traffic signal detectors.

Traffic Impacts

Motorists should be prepared for delayed travel between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

  • Expect possible lane shifts and brief, intermittent delays
  • US 160 traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction
  • Speeds will be reduced to 40 mph

  • Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
  • Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
  • Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
  • Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
  • Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
  • Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
  • Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
