U.S. 24 Curve Correction Project

Travel Advisory

July 7, 2023 - Southeastern Colorado - Expect traffic stops for rock removal and cleanup operations

Teller County – One or more traffic stops of 30 minutes should be anticipated on eastbound and westbound US 24, just east of Florissant, on Monday, July 10, from 10 a.m. to noon for rock removal and cleanup operations.

The stops are necessary for the safety of the traveling public, allowing crews to remove rock from the highway’s north slope and clear the roadway.

Monday’s work is part of the Colorado Department of Transportation’s project to remove 1,500 feet of rock slope along the northside of the highway and widen the shoulders, improving the sight distance for drivers. Other safety enhancements involve grading and paving, new guardrails, striping and signage.

The project is scheduled for completion in July 2023.
