CDOT Programs Overview

Can Do Colorado LogoThe Can Do Community Challenge, an extension of the Can Do Colorado campaign, is asking local communities and their resident businesses to find new opportunities to restart commerce in ways that are safe and sustainable. CDOT is launching two small grant programs to help support this initiative.

Plane

The Colorado Division of Aeronautics partners with its public and private constituents through the efficient administration of the Colorado Aviation Fund.

Bridge

The Colorado Bridge Enterprise finances, repairs, reconstructs and replaces structurally deficient bridges. This program is funded through a vehicle registration bridge safety surcharge.

BikePed

CDOT recognizes the benefits of walking and bicycling, and highly recommends their use for commuting, running errands and recreation.

Scale.pngCDOT's Civil Rights & Business Resource Center (CRBRC) promotes equal access to and participation in CDOT programs and activities.

Environmental

Our Environmental division helps the Transportation Commission, the Division of Transportation Engineering and CDOT executive management develop environmental policy, procedures, programmatic agreements, and environmental data.

Express Lanes increase roadway capacity and help manage congestion on the highways by offering choice—ride the bus, carpool, or pay a toll and use the lanes as a solo driver as an alternative to the free general-purpose lanes.

Supports all types of transportation options, especially those that help reduce congestion by avoiding single occupancy vehicle use. 

HPTE

The High-Performance Transportation Enterprise (HPTE) aggressively pursues innovative means of more efficiently financing important surface transportation infrastructure projects.

CDOT works extensively with the 15 Transportation Planning Regions (TPRs), local elected officials and the public to ensure that everyone has a voice in the statewide and regional planning processes.

The 2045 Statewide Transportation Plan (SWP) identifies future needs for Colorado's transportation system and establishes a transportation vision for the state. Learn how people throughout the state are involved in shaping this important plan.

The Transit & Rail division works with other transit and rail providers to plan, promote, and implement investments in transit and rail services statewide.
